James Hyde |
|
James Hyde
has been producing sterling
silver jewellery for a
number of years. He is a
horticulturist by trade and
takes the inspiration for
his jewellery from plants
and the natural world around
him. He uses various
hammering techniques on some
of his work to emulate the
textures and patterns found
in nature, leaf, bark and
water. Many items are
"one-offs" or a variation on
a theme. James lives in the
Forest of Dean
Gloucestershire with wife
Karen, one dog and three
cats. |

Hallmark |
|
All silver is
of sterling quality and most are
hallmarked at Birmingham Assay
office using James's hallmark,
his initials BW, James's middle
names Benedict Wakeman, plus 925
silver quality, Lion rampant
traditional silver mark, anchor
Birmingham assay office and the
date letter.
Semi-precious Jewellery
James also works with
semi-precious beads and stones
to produce unique items of
jewellery using silver and
silver plated findings.
Other Metals
A small amount of jewellery is
made using a combination of
copper and silver. Occasionally
brass is used as well.
